How do I apply for a position?

On the Careers page, there will be information for external and internal applicants as well as academic and student employment. Click on the link that is applicable to you to view new positions. In order to be considered for a staff position, you must apply to each specific posting that interests you. If you find a job that matches your qualifications, click "Apply Now" button and proceed to complete an online application. If you have begun applying for a position and realize you are not ready to submit, you can return later by utilizing the “Save for Later” option. 

Please note that all candidates for staff employment are required to utilize the online application process. All applications and resumes must be submitted through the on-line system for consideration. Computer access and personal assistance with the system is available to all prospective applicants in Human Resources office during regular business hours.

How do I create an applicant account or profile with CWRU?

On the Careers page, select external applicant.  New users begin by clicking on ‘Register Now’ button. Create your username and password (write this down for later use), complete your profile, and you’re ready to apply for posted job openings. If you do not have all the information to complete your application, you have the option to save and edit at a later time. Be sure to log out every time you leave the system. You will be able to log in again with the user name and password you created.

How do I search for a job?

You may search for jobs prior to creating an account profile. What kind of job interests you? Search jobs by keywords, job opening number, or job family category by clicking on "Advanced Search" button. Click “Search” button to view the job openings that match your search criteria.

Can I apply without selecting a specific position?

In order to be considered for a position, you must apply to each specific posting that interests you. If you find a job that matches your qualifications, click “Apply Now” button and proceed to complete an online application. If you have begun applying for a position and realize you are not ready to submit your application, you can return later by utilizing the “Save for Later” option.

How long are job postings available?

The length of time a job posting is available varies. Each job posting will remain open for a minimum of five business days. On average a job posting is available for 30 days. We recommend checking for new jobs at least once a week so that you do not miss out on an opportunity.

How do I know if my application was received?

After you submit your application, you will receive a confirmation email from employment@case.edu stating your application has been successfully submitted. Check your email spam folder and / or change your email settings to accept our email notifications.

Where can I attach additional documents with my application?

After you log into the applicant system, the online application allows you to upload a resume and separate cover letter only. If you want to share additional documents, it should be included in either the resume document or cover letter document.

Once I apply for a position, how long might it take for someone at CWRU to contact me?

This time varies from position to position, based on how long the position has been open and the hiring needs of the department. Generally, you can expect to be contacted within 30 days. In some cases, it may be sooner than that.

How do I check the status of my application?

After creating your applicant account, you will be able to check the status of any jobs for which you have applied.

How soon will I be contacted for an interview?

If you are selected for an interview, it can take up to four weeks to be contacted for an interview.

I found an error on my application after I submitted it, how can I revise it?

The system does not allow you to revise an application after it has been submitted. Please withdraw your current applicant and complete a new application.

How do I withdraw my application?

After you log into the applicant system, you can view a list of your applications at “My Job Applications”, and proceed to select the application you wish to withdraw and click the “Withdraw” button.

I found a CWRU job listed with a third party website, why don’t I see it on the CWRU website?

The job is either expired or no longer available.

What do I do if my login information is not working?

You can reset your user name and password on the sign in window. If you forgot your password, you can click on ‘Forgot Password’ on the sign in window to reset your password.

Will I receive a response even if I’m not selected for a position?

Yes, you can expect to receive a response from employment at CWRU even if you are not selected for a position.

How frequently are job postings added?

Job postings are added each day to our employment website.

I applied to a job that is now re-posted. Do I have to apply again?

In order to be considered for a position, you must apply to each specific posting that interests you. It is recommended that you initiate the application, click “Apply Now” button and proceed to complete an online application.

If I am a current CWRU employee, how do I apply to jobs at CWRU?

Please login to your HCM account. After logging in, locate the ‘Careers’ tile on your main page. The ‘Careers’ page will show you all current job postings, any job notifications that you have received, your job applications, and more.

If I am a current CWRU employee, does my CWRU supervisor get a notice when I apply for a job at CWRU? Who can see when I apply to other CWRU positions?

Supervisors do not receive a notice when internal applicants apply to a position. The employment specialist, hiring manager, and HR Service Center can see who applies to a specific position.

What if I accidentally applied to a job as an external candidate rather than an internal candidate (current CWRU employee)?

The system does not allow you to revise an application after it has been submitted. Please withdraw your current application, then login into HCM as an employee to complete a new application.
