Active Learning Classrooms

Active learning' is a form of instruction using student-student and student-teacher collaboration, increased information access, non-traditional forms of student assessment and updated instructional delivery. The Active Learning Classrooms take advantage of spatial arrangements and modern technology to promote a pedagogical shift toward 'active learning'. In addition to our standard Technology Enhanced Classroom (TEC) technologies, these spaces are designed to be flexible and include a mobile teaching station, magnetic whiteboards and a large writable wall within reach of both students and the instructor. The Active Learning Classrooms can provide sufficient wireless Internet bandwidth to accommodate the needs of the connected student and accommodate group collaboration, each with their own interactive monitor.

Rooms include: 125 Mather Memorial (capacity 24 students) and 310 Nord (capacity 54-60 students)
