University Technology, [U]Tech configures Virtual Machines to meet specifications. A virtual server provides users with the the storage and computing capability of a physical machine without the space and maintenance costs and requirements.
UTech can maximize server utilization, thereby minimizing the costs for hardware maintenance and facilities.
- OS: install Windows Server 2012r2 or 2016; Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 or 7
- RAM: depends on application needs
- CPU: depends on application needs
A base level virtual machine comes equipped with 1 processor (vCPU), 2Gb of RAM, 40Gb system drive, a 40Gb data drive running with high availability. The customer will need to request backup if needed. The cost of backup is $3.87 Gb per year.

VMs are used by departments, faculty and staff across the university.
