Cleveland Institute of Music invites the community to a free Day of Music, a celebration of artistry and collaboration featuring student musicians, faculty, and local ensembles. From noon to 6:15 p.m., audiences can explore performances across the building, enjoy family-friendly activities, and sample offerings from food trucks and local vendors.
Highlights include:
- Piano Extravaganza curated by international competition winner and CIM faculty member Antonio Pompa-Baldi
- University of Akron Steel Drum Band
- The Jordan Choir from Cleveland’s Church of the Covenant
- Linking Legacies program with violinist John McLaughlin Williams and pianist Dianna White-Gould of The Music Settlement, performing works by African American composers with ties to Northeast Ohio
- CWRU Historical Performance Program showcase
The festival culminates with a 7:30 p.m. recital by Grammy Award–winning guitarist Jason Vieaux, a member of the CIM faculty, performing in Kulas Hall’s world-class acoustic setting.
