Eric Zhang has been recognized as one of the 2025 Steinway Rising Stars, an honor presented during Steinway Piano Gallery Cleveland’s annual celebration on November 19. Selected for his exceptional artistry, discipline, and passion for music, Eric stood among an impressive class of 18 talented young pianists from across Northeast Ohio.

Eric’s musical achievements and dedication to his craft exemplify the spirit of the Rising Star distinction. In addition to his outstanding technical skill, he is celebrated for his curiosity, thoughtful musicianship, and commitment to continual growth as an artist.

Eric’s instructor, Gerardo Teissonnière, Piano Faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music, shared the following reflection:

I’m incredibly proud to share that my student Eric Zhang has been named a 2025 Steinway Rising Star!

Eric is an exceptional young artist who brings curiosity, dedication, and genuine musicality to everything he does. In his two years studying with me in the Joint Music Program, he has made a lasting impact on our community—Steinway could not have chosen a more deserving honoree.

The Department of Music is proud to highlight Eric’s accomplishments and extends heartfelt congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, as well as to his incredible teacher who has helped shape his musical journey.
