In June, 2008, the farm received a gift of $100,000 from the Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Association (FSMAA).This $100,000 gift helped renovate and name the major teaching laboratory located in the Main Barn building.
The new Mather Teaching Lab at Squire Valleevue Farm pays tribute to the memory of Flora Stone and honors the history of Mather College and its alumnae.
The 1,000-square-foot teaching lab is an ideal place for educating anyone with an interest in science. It serves all types of participants — from kindergarteners to college students — and can accommodate 24 people comfortably. In addition, the lab has a small herbarium for maintaining plant specimens.
