“Hike and Seek for Research” Event Benefits Pediatric Genetic Disorders

Take a hike! The third annual family- and dog-friendly Hike & Seek for Research will take place Sunday, September 15, at one of the award-winning Cleveland Metroparks, Brecksville Reservation. Guests can hike anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Upon check-in at Oak Grove Picnic Shelter, guests will receive a special bandana to wear and a “seek” list to find specific items on the trails for a chance to win prizes. Guests can also participate in the new “Super Seek” competition finding at least ten items, starting at 10 a.m. for a chance to win one of ten premium prizes. The top three finishers will win cash prizes of $300, $200 and $100 respectfully while the last seven finishers will receive prizes including $100 L.L. Bean gift cards. Hike & Seek for Research is expected to draw hundreds of supporters from Northeast Ohio who love nature and helping kids.

Proceeds from Hike & Seek for Research directly support the Research Institute for Children’s Health at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. The Institute seeks to improve outcomes for children who suffer from devastating diseases and disorders by accelerating laboratory discoveries into treatments.

This year, the Institute will celebrate its fourth year supporting and carrying out biomedical research. Thanks to generous support, the institute has moved from supporting research in one disease area in 2015 to 21 diseases in 2019.
