For the 2024-25 academic year: Please COMPLETE ALL the steps outlined in each tab on this page by June 14 to ensure on-time aid disbursement. 

Financial Aid Award Notifications issued by the Office of Financial Aid represents the MAXIMUM amount of available aid for the specified academic year.

In order for funds to be disbursed to SIS for tuition, fees, and living expenses, students must accept their financial aid award on My Financial Aid each year.

Accept

For the 2024-25 academic year: Please COMPLETE ALL the steps outlined in each tab on this page by June 14 to ensure on-time aid disbursement.  

1. View Award on My Financial Aid > Menu > Accept Your Award
  1. Read and Accept the Terms and Conditions disclosure.
  2. Agreement to the Terms and Conditions does not signify acceptance of your award. You will complete this step in the following page.

The amount of each Federal Loan shown on the portal is the MAXIMUM amount available for the academic year.

2. Indicate how much you want to borrow in federal loans
  1. Scroll to the right of the award acceptance page to change each loan amount, if needed.
  2. Update the status of each loan if you made changes

FA - Med My Financial Aid Portal example

Students may request their loans to disburse in uneven amounts between semesters. Accept the TOTAL amount you want to borrow for the YEAR, then email our office at medfinancialaid@case.edu and provide the following information.

  • Name of the loan you would like to have disbursed unevenly
  • Amounts for each semester (even if one semester is $0 for disbursement)
3. Click Submit to Accept Your Award
4. Continue to the next tabs on this page to submit loan documents.

Our office encourages you to budget approximately the total amount of funds you will need for the school year and accept slightly more than that amount (taking into account loan origination fees and unanticipated expenses). Loans can be reduced or increased anytime during the academic year.

Direct Unsubsidized Loan

For the 2024-25 academic year: Please COMPLETE ALL the steps outlined in each tab on this page by June 14 to ensure on-time aid disbursement.  


Entrance Counseling
  • Log into the Federal Student Aid website using your FSA ID and password (the same one as for the FAFSA)
  • Select 'Complete Loan Counseling'
  • Select 'Start' next to 'Entrance Counseling (Required)'
  • Select "Case Western Reserve University" School code: G03024
  • Select your Student Type as graduate or professional student

Master Promissory Note
  • Log into the Federal Student Aid website using your FSA ID and password (the same one as for the FAFSA)
  • Select 'Complete Loan Agreement (Master Promissory Note)'
  • Select 'MPN for Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loans'
  • Select "Case Western Reserve University" School code: G03024 
Graduate Plus Loan

For the 2024-25 academic year: Please COMPLETE ALL the steps outlined in each tab on this page by June 14 to ensure on-time aid disbursement.  


2024-2025
Graduate Plus Loan Application (required each year)
  • Log into the Federal Student Aid website using your FSA ID and password (the same one as for the FAFSA)
  • Select 'Apply for a Direct PLUS Loan'
  • Select 'Start' next to 'Direct PLUS Loan Application for Graduate/Professional Students'
  • Select "Case Western Reserve University" School code: G03024 - make sure to click 'Notify School'
  • Set the Loan Period as follows:
    • Start Date: July 2024
    • End Date: June 2025
  • You will be notified immediately of approval or denial
Entrance Counseling for Graduate Plus Loan
  • Log into the Federal Student Aid website using your FSA ID and password (the same one as for the FAFSA)
  • Select 'Complete Loan Counseling'
  • Select 'Start' next to 'Entrance Counseling (Required)'
  • Select "Case Western Reserve University" School code: G03024
  • Select your Student Type as graduate or professional student
