Dr. Neena Singh obtained her MD degree in Pathology from Maulana Azad Medical College, India in 1982, and a PhD degree in Cell Biology from Case Western Reserve University in 1990. She completed her Residency program in Clinical Pathology and Fellowship in Immunopathology at University Hospitals Cleveland in 1994 before joining Case Western Reserve University as an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology. Currently, she is a full professor in the Departments of Pathology and Neurology.
The research in Singh laboratory is broadly focused on the pathophysiology of iron in disorders of the brain and the eye. Current interests in the lab include:
- Iron cycling in the eye.
- Pathophysiology of iron in corneal infections, glaucoma, and cataract.
- The eye as a model to understand the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Prion disorders.
