Xing-Jun Fan, PhD

Assistant Professor
Department of Pathology
School of Medicine

Dr. Xingjun Fan received his B.S. from the Northwestern University (Xian, China) in 1993. He received his Ph.D from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1998. He had two years postdoctoral training at Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, the Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2000 to 2005, Dr. Fan had his postdoctoral training at Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Fan is currently an instructor in the department.

Research Information

Research Projects

  • Using knock in and knock out animal model to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which the aging process leads to impairment of protein function, i.e. lens crystallin aging and cataractogenesis.
  • Using systematically knock in animal model to elucidate the possible mechanisms of prevention of proteinuria via enhancing the antioxidative capability in diabetic kidney function.
