Degree Planning for Advisors

Stellic is a dynamic planning tool that helps students easily plan their semester schedules and visualize their degree requirements.

This tool offers a modern student and advisor experience, enhances the ability to view and manage students' paths to graduation via requirements, and can be accessed directly from the Student Information System (SIS).

Stellic is currently available for undergraduate students and will be expanding in phases to the schools of Medicine, Law, Management, and Nursing.

Executive Sponsors

Dear CWRU Community,

As Executive Sponsors, we are pleased to express our strong support for the continued and expanded adoption of the Stellic degree management and student success platform at Case Western Reserve University.

Stellic has become a vital tool for our undergraduate community, providing clear academic planning and visibility into degree progress. Building on this success, CWRU will phase Stellic into the schools of Medicine, Law, Nursing, and Management over the coming years. While each professional program has distinct structures and advising models, this expansion allows us to respect those unique needs while fostering a more unified, student-centered academic technology ecosystem across the university.

The Student Information System (SIS) remains our system of record. Stellic provides a modern, intuitive front-end interface that works with SIS to provide a seamless user experience. Stellic allows us to:

  • Enhance the user experience by giving students, faculty, and advisors a shared, intuitive view of student progress.
  • Support student progression by making degree pathways transparent and accessible.
  • Elevate advising by shifting conversations from administrative tracking to meaningful dialogue about academic and career goals.
  • Improve operational efficiency by reducing reliance on manual processes.

We look forward to the positive impact this project will have on our students, advisors, and academic leadership community. Thank you for your ongoing collaboration and commitment to continuous improvement as we launch this next phase.

Sincerely,

Features

Stellic expands functionality for students.

  • Easily explore programs. Students can view alternate scenarios for planning purposes by adding programs to their profiles to see how existing and planned coursework will apply toward those requirements.
  • Create a plan for each semester towards graduation. Stellic has a user friendly interface with a clean layout, mobile friendly views, and drag and drop functionality.
  • Generate a schedule that fits students’ preferences. Students can take their planned courses and have Stellic automatically generate a schedule based on the sections offered in SIS.

Stellic fosters transparency and collaboration with advisors.

  • A shared view helps advisors and students stay on the same page. Any changes students make to their planner or scheduler in Stellic, the advisor can see and make any notes based on their knowledge of course offerings, workload, or recommendations.

Stellic provides expanded analytics for advisors and administrators.

  • Advisors and administrators can create reports generated from the degree planning tools to easily identify students who meet certain criteria (e.g. undeclared students, seniors with less than 5 requirements remaining, students with less than 2.0 GPA, etc).
