CWRU Partners with Google to Expand Campus-Wide AI Access with Gemini Enterprise

New initiative provides secure agentic AI tools, tailored training, and collaborative opportunities for faculty, staff, and students.

Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) has announced a university-wide partnership with Google to expand access to advanced artificial intelligence tools, bringing Gemini Enterprise accounts and specialized training to all faculty, staff, and students. Accessible using single sign-on credentials at case.edu/gemini, Gemini Enterprise serves as a secure, agentic AI platform that integrates disparate applications—including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365—enabling users to run unified searches, analyze cross-system data, automate complex operational workflows, and construct custom no-code AI agents. This initiative aligns with CWRU's strategic goal to responsibly leverage AI to foster critical thinking in education, accelerate research discoveries, support community workforce growth, and drive administrative efficiency across campus.

Gemini Enterprise includes Google's latest frontier model, Gemini 4 Argon. Argon excels at complex reasoning over extended periods of time. This makes the model ideal for powering agents that manage complex workflows or tackle large, complicated codebases.

At the heart of the deployment is an enterprise-grade security framework designed to protect campus data, ensuring processing adheres to strict access controls and compliance standards without utilizing university information to train public commercial models. Beyond platform software, the partnership introduces key campus resources, including early access for researchers to experimental tools such as Co-Scientist, AlphaEvolve, AlphaGenome, and Project Aura. On-site Google engineers will be co-located in the upcoming AI Discovery Hub within the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Building, while students will benefit from extensive skills workshops and a selective annual Google Student Ambassador Program.

University leaders emphasize that all AI engagement must remain safe and compliant, instructing community members to avoid unapproved consumer tools like personal ChatGPT accounts and reminding users that restricted data cannot be entered into any AI system at this time. See UTech’s AI policy guide for more information. Student utilization of AI tools must also comply fully with CWRU’s academic integrity policies and course-specific guidelines.

For individuals requiring specialized or higher-capacity access, Gemini Enterprise Pro licenses are available upon request through help@case.edu, while administrative support, policy guidance, and technical inquiries are handled through the university's central AI portal and helpdesk.
