Microsoft has upgraded the models that power its AI chat service Microsoft Copilot. The AI chat service now uses Open AI’s GPT 5.1 and 5.2 for language processing, automatically balancing speed and reasoning based on your question. Or, you can select your preferred response mode, "Quick response" or "Think deeper" (5.1) or click "More" and select the 5.2 versions of these models.
Image generation has been updated to GPT-image 1.5. Open AI’s latest image model is a start of the art in both creating new images that follow your prompt and editing existing images. It is also excellent at only editing the portion of the image you specify, while retaining image consistency everywhere else, including with people. For example, you can provide an image of a person, and change their outfit or background with a natural language prompt, and the person will remain faithful to the original image.
