Join us for an evening of live jazz as the Case Western Reserve University Jazz Ensembles take the stage. Under the direction of Paul Ferguson, the ensembles will perform an exciting selection of Paris Jazz favorites, along with two songs celebrating Frank Sinatra's opening performance at the Richfield Coliseum nearly 50 years ago. This concert promises a captivating experience for all jazz enthusiasts!

Reed Simon, born in New Jersey, is the son of two musicians. Over the last 15 years he has established himself as one of the top jazz violin soloists in the country, specializing in the French Jazz aesthetic of the mid 20th century. Reed is also a gifted artist and taught for many years at Notre Dame College. You can find Reed performing around town, especially at the Paris Room in Chagrin Falls.

Paul Ferguson is Artistic Director of the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and has taught at CWRU since 1988. An Eastman graduate and former trombonist with the Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey orchestras, he is also a respected arranger for Jazz Ensemble and Pops Orchestra. Paul was named a Cleveland Jazz Legend by the Tri-C Jazz festival this past summer.

Florence Harkness Memorial Chapel (est. 1902) is known for its Tiffany stained-glass windows, soaring arches, and beautiful woodwork. The neo-Gothic structure, located in Mather Quad on the campus of Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH), commemorates the brief life of Florence Harkness Severance.

The venue features a warm, intimate, and acoustically resonant space for Department of Music performances, lectures, and special events.
