About the Performer

Jesse Silverberg is a native of Silver Spring, Maryland, and began playing the horn at the age of nine. He is currently enrolled in the Joint Music Program of the Cleveland Institute of Music and Case Western Reserve University, where he has studied with Sean Yancer, David Brockett, and Meghan Guegold. Jesse recently performed with the Akron Symphony Orchestra and made his solo debut in 2023 with the Case Western Symphony Orchestra. He is the 2024 recipient of the Joan Terr Ronis Memorial Recital Prize and has previously attended the Aspen Music Festival and School. This summer, he will be a fellow at the Music Academy of the West.

In addition to his musical pursuits, Jesse is earning an M.S. in Computer Science at CWRU under the guidance of Professor Soumya Ray.

Venue

Florence Harkness Memorial Chapel (est. 1902) is known for its Tiffany stained-glass windows, soaring arches, and exquisite woodwork. The neo-Gothic structure, located on Mather Quad at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH), commemorates the brief life of Florence Harkness Severance. The chapel offers a warm, intimate, and acoustically resonant space for Department of Music performances, lectures, and special events.

The CWRU Music Concert Series offers free concerts and student recitals in the stunning Harkness Chapel. These performances highlight the exceptional talents of CWRU students and faculty, providing the broader community with opportunities to enjoy high-quality live music in an intimate and historic setting.
