Julie Gerberding, MD, MPH, recently joined the CWRU/MPH podcast for a conversation on her career, the current response to the pandemic, and ongoing concerns for public health regionally, nationally, and globally.
She is one of CWRU’s most prominent alumni, having earned her undergraduate and medical school education at CWRU.
Dr. Gerberding is currently with Merck as the chief patient officer and executive vice president, Population Health & Sustainability. She is perhaps best known as the CDC Director, where she served from 2002 to 2009. During that time, she oversaw response to several infectious outbreaks and pandemics, including the SARS outbreak in 2003.
