Nov. 7-13, 2021, is National Nurse Practitioner Week, which brings recognition to the role and increases awareness of the exemplary care nurse practitioners provide. A double alumna of Case Western Reserve University’s Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Tina Resser (NUR ‘97, ‘99), was recently named a recipient of Ohio’s top nurse practitioner award from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the 2022 AANP Nurse Practitioner State Award for Excellence from Ohio.

Recipients are honored annually during AANP’s national conference. Established in 1991, the State Award for Excellence is given to a nurse practitioner who demonstrates excellence in clinical practice.

Resser is a nurse practitioner in the cerebrovascular and neurosurgery service at Cleveland Clinic, a role she pioneered. She has provided care to patients as a nurse practitioner for two decades.

Previous recipients of the State Award for Excellence include Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing faculty members Carol Savrin (2021) and Peg DiMarco (2019).
