New York City Detective John McClane has just arrived in Los Angeles to spend Christmas with his wife. But during her office holiday party, an armed band led by mastermind Hans Gruber breaks in to hold everyone in the Nakatomi Plaza building hostage. With no way for anyone to get in or out, it's up to McClane and his improvised "cowboy" tactics to save them all. Yippee-ki-yay!

It's Christmas Eve and a young boy is having doubts that Santa Claus exists. Then a magical train, the Polar Express, appears outside his house. Its destination: the North Pole.
