Pro-tips about studying at Kelvin Smith Library

The Kelvin Smith Library (KSL) at Case Western Reserve is a great place to study and collaborate, meet with friends, grab a bite to eat, and access a wide variety of resources and services. But which study and research location is right for you?

There are different levels of activity—and noise—that take place on the various floors of the KSL. You might meet with a study buddy on the first floor, while the third floor may be a better choice when you need deep focus.
Check out the interactive map of Kelvin Smith Library to find your ideal study location:

  • 1st floor—A high activity area featuring many of the library service points, including the Cramelot Cafe.
  • 2nd floor—A mid-level activity area with additional study, collaboration spaces and a tech-enabled classroom.
  • 3rd floor—A quiet study area with numerous desks that also houses the majority of the book and monograph collections.
  • Lower Level—A mid-level activity area that features a CWRU staffed Utech Help Desk, collaboration rooms and classrooms, and vending machines.
