Daniel Pistone, CAA, has stepped into the role of Program Director for the Washington, D.C. location. Daniel has been a Simulation Lab Instructor since 2014, before taking on the roles of Director of Clinical Education in 2017 and Associate Program Director in 2021. He brings extensive experience in the profession, as well as strong leadership skills from serving on various task forces and committees on the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs and the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation. He also brings his experience in the education field, as Daniel was a teacher before becoming a CAA. His former and current work has broadened his expertise and knowledge in order to successfully lead the Washington, D.C. program location.
Giselle Lara, CAA, will take on a new role as the Director of Clinical Education in Washington, D.C. An MSA program alumna, Giselle has worked with MSA students as a Simulation Lab Instructor and a Clinical Preceptor since 2017 and a Student Clinical Coordinator since 2021. She has also proven her leadership with past roles including serving on the board of leadership for the Virginia Association of Anesthesiologist Assistants. We look forward to new opportunities and growth as Lara transitions into her new role.
In Cleveland, Kate Carvill, CAA, has been selected as the Director of Clinical Education. An MSA program alumna, Kate worked with MSA students as a Simulation Instructor and was later invited to join the MSA program in 2021 as the Director of Simulation Education in Cleveland. Kate brings her 19 years of experience as a CAA, with leadership roles including serving as the President of the Ohio Academy of Anesthesiologists Assistants. With Kate's commitment and expertise, we are sure that she will bring a new perspective to enhance our students' experiences.
