Case Western Reserve University Master of Science in Anesthesia Program maintains clinical affiliations with nearly 100 hospitals and clinics across the country. Many of these are recognized as the most accomplished healthcare institutions in the United States. These hospitals employ many certified anesthesiologist assistants and physicians with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine faculty or clinical instructor appointments, including several of our alumni. All told, the faculty of the Master of Science in Anesthesia Program includes roughly 2,000 instructors working in classrooms, hospitals, and clinics across our network.
Within the network, each program location maintains primary affiliations with local healthcare institutions. These primary affiliates are responsible for the majority of our first-year students’ rotations and some second-year students’ specialty rotations in Cleveland, Houston, and Washington.
These include:
- Baylor Scott & White Health in Austin, Texas
- Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
- MedStar Washington Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
- Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas
- MetroHealth System in Cleveland, Ohio
- St. David's HealthCare Systems in Austin, Texas
- Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas
- University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio
As the only MSA Program with a national reach, these primary affiliates are a vital component of our curriculum and our students’ clinical experience. We’re thankful for the people who make this possible, who support patient-centered care, and who are dedicated to curbing the shortage of anesthesia care providers that our nation is currently experiencing.
