Students also rotate at a number of regional hospitals in Southeast Texas and more broadly. Some of our key affiliates are highlighted below.
Memorial Hermann Regional Hospitals
Including the Texas Medical Center, Memorial Hermann operates a 15 regional hospitals and numerous specialty programs and services across Southeast Texas. Memorial Hermann is one of the largest non-profit health systems in the region, and has been named one of the nation’s top 15 health systems by Truven Health.
The system is comprised of 5,500 affiliated physicians and more than 26,000 employees, who focus on practicing evidence-based medicine and patient safety. In 2017, TIRR Memorial Hermann was recognized as the best rehabilitation hospital in Texas and number two in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.
Memorial Hermann maintains eight suburban hospitals, three premier Heart and Vascular Institutes, research hospitals, teaching hospitals, top rehabilitation and sports medicine centers, comprehensive cancer centers, and a number of additional facilities, laboratories, and treatment centers. MSA Program students have the opportunity to rotate at a number of Memorial Hermann regional hospitals, including Southwest Hospital, one of the world’s largest providers of cardiovascular care; Sugar Land Hospital, a primary stroke center and acute care facility; and The Woodlands, a trauma center recognized for its acute care and affiliated with TIRR Memorial Hermann.
Children’s Health is a 616-bed children’s hospital located in Dallas, Texas. It is consistently named as one of the top pediatric hospitals in the country and is nationally ranked in ten specialties by U.S. News & World Report.
Children’s Health is the largest pediatric healthcare provider in the country, seeing 800,000 patients on average each year, and is noteworthy for its devotion to advocacy for children.
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta focuses on family-centered care, providing access to more than 2,000 pediatric physicians who represent more than 60 pediatric specialties and programs. The system maintains three hospitals, which offer a total of 638 beds to patients, and 28 neighborhood locations and urgent care centers. Additionally, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta operates the Marcus Autism Center.
In 2018, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta was ranked among the nation’s top pediatric hospitals in the U.S. News & World Report’s edition of “Best Children’s hospitals.” It was noted for its excellence in outcomes, program structure, and national reputation in ten pediatric specialty areas.
