You Have Options
Students enrolled in the BSN program have a variety of federal and state student aid programs. A student’s financial aid award offer may include scholarships (see below), Grants, Loans and Student Employment.
In determining financial aid for these undergraduate programs, the university includes tuition, fees and standard living allowances such as room and board, books and supplies, travel and miscellaneous or personal expenses. In order to receive financial aid, undergraduate students must:
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Be enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours)
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Complete all supporting documentation as requested(i.e. income tax forms, etc.)

The Bolton Scholarship
Named for Frances Payne Bolton, one of the founders of the School of Nursing at Western Reserve University (now the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University). Students who have not been selected for another scholarship and who show exceptional promise in the field of nursing are named Bolton Scholars. All first-time undergraduate applicants who meet the scholarship criteria are automatically considered for this award.
CWRU Merit-Based Scholarships
Case Western Reserve University offers several full and partial-tuition merit-based scholarships. These scholarships are renewable for up to four (4) years. We strongly recommend that undergraduates that wish to be considered for a CWRU Merit Scholarship apply for admission by Nov. 15, but no later than Jan. 15. They must also submit SAT I or ACT scores and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by Feb. 1. Learn More about Scholarships at Case Western Reserve.
