Jennifer Adamski, DNP APRN, ACNP-BC, CCRN, FCCM

Jennifer Adamski

Dr. Adamski is Associate Professor, Assistant Dean for Professional Programs, and Director of MSN/APRN Education & Post Graduate Flight Education at Case Western Reserve University’s Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. She previously held the position of Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program Director at Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. 

Dr. Adamski has been a critical care nurse practitioner for the past 23 years and serves as an expert witness for trauma and critical care. A leader in national organizations, Dr. Adamski has taken on multiple roles within the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). She served on the SCCM Education Committee, the Women in Critical Care Knowledge and Education Group, and various other committees, including the Graduate and Resident Education Committee. She is also an active participant in the Critical Care Societies Collaborative, which includes partnerships with the American Thoracic Association and CHEST (formerly the American College of Chest Physicians). Most recently, as President of AACN, the largest nursing specialty organization in the country, Dr. Adamski is working to align initiatives within the critical care community, advocating for a unified voice on behalf of critical care clinicians.

Her areas of research include trauma prevention, rapid response teams, and trauma advances in hemorrhagic shock. She has lectured nationally and internationally on the critical care NP model, trauma resuscitation and management, and has received numerous awards, including the March of Dimes Critical Care Nurse of the Year, Excellence in Nursing Leadership, and the Women in Leadership Award. She was inducted as a Fellow to the American College of Critical Care Medicine in 2021.

Dr. Adamski earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of South Alabama, a master’s in nursing from University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s in nursing from Carlow University in Pittsburgh.

Gloria Lamela Beriones, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, FADLN 

Gloria Lamela Beriones

Dr. Beriones lends her expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, researcher and leader to over one hundred nurses who provide high-quality, safe, compassionate and excellent healthcare to veterans. She received her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science from Texas Woman’s University, Houston, Texas. She is a graduate of the Coldiron Senior Nurse Executive Leadership Fellowship Program, Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing

She serves on the Board of Directors of the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurse Associations, highlighting her passion to promote equity and justice in healthcare. She also serves as an Advisory Board Member for Alliance for Ethical International Recruitment Practices, a division of TruMerit, ensuring foreign-educated health professionals are recruited in a fair and ethical manner for employment in the United States. Additionally, she is part of the Expert Advisory Group for the World Health Organization Global Code of Practice on International Recruitment of Health Personnel, the goal of which is to promote ethical recruitment principles to protect human rights and strengthen health systems globally. 

Dr. Beriones research study, “Adaptation Experiences of Internationally Educated Filipino Nurses (IEFN) Employed in United States,” and her article published in Nurse Leader, “Nurse Managers’ Strategies and Toolkit for Internationally Educated Filipino Nurses’ Transition to Practice in the US,’ have been utilized by healthcare facilities not only in transitioning newly arrived IEFNs, but also in planning the orientation of arriving IEFNs. 

Dr. Beriones’ passion is to multiply Filipino American nurses as nurse leaders, promoting nursing excellence and advancing health for all. During her presidency of the Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA), she launched the official PNAA Mentoring Program, going to its third cohort. Similarly, PNAA Camp Aruga Leadership Bootcamp has graduated 619 nurse leaders ready to serve.

Earl Dalton MHA, MSL, BSN, NEA-BC

Earl Dalton

Earl Dalton, Chief Nursing Officer at Health Carousel, has over 30 years of acute hospital experience in various leadership roles from Adult Health to Emergency and Critical Care. He is an accomplished speaker, author and innovator in the healthcare industry. Dalton has worked for several hospital systems, most notably the Duke University Health System, which is consistently in the top ten for healthcare delivery in the United States and globally. He is an industry thought leader and has done exceptional work in work culture, quality improvement, and customer experience.

Dalton earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina in 2005 and his Master of Health Administration and Master of Science in Leadership from Pfeiffer University in 2009 and 2011, respectively. He has maintained his certification as a Nurse Executive Advanced – Board Certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center for the past ten years, with his latest recertification in 2021. Dalton recently completed an executive fellowship at the Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy, Francis Payne Bolton School of Nursing, and serves on its Global Advisory Board. 

Dalton is the current president of the National Association of Travel Healthcare Organizations (NATHO) and acts as NATHO’s clinical executive counsel liaison. He is also a member of the American Staffing Association (ASA) Healthcare Staffing Section and is an ASA mentor and official spokesperson. This year, Dalton is honored to be inducted into the American Academy of Nurses as a Fellow. 

Dalton has spoken at events such as the International Council of Nurses in Helsinki, Finland, and recently contributed to “Building a Culture of Safety: A National Nursing Licensure Model,” published in Becker’s June 2021. He is enthusiastic about nursing and a strong advocate for the advancement of nursing.

Christine Horvat Davey PhD, RN, (GRS '19, nursing)

Christine Horvat Davey

Dr. Horvat Davey is an Assistant Professor at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). Her research looks at the relationship between lifestyle (i.e., sleep, diet, physical activity) and biological factors and neurocognitive function in aging people with HIV (PWH). Her research advances behavioral, biological and social science by implementing and testing exercise interventions for sleep quality, analyzing the underpinnings of inflammation as it relates to physical activity and sleep quality in PWH. 

Her recent work (K23NR019744) investigates sleep hygiene in aging PWH and characterizes the effects of two exercise interventions, high-intensity interval training and continuous moderate-intensity exercise, on sleep quality in aging PWH, as well as examines the underlying mechanism of inflammation as it relates to sleep in aging PWH. Dr. Horvat Davey engages in international research to improve the quality of life and health outcomes for PWH through the International Nursing Network for HIV Research. Her impact is far-reaching and cited in journals of nursing, sleep, HIV, and aging. Her research publications have expanded the understanding and highlighted the significance of sleep, physical activity, and diet in healthy aging in PWH. Her work has been funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research, American Nurses Foundation, as well as private foundations.

Dr. Horvat Davey received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Toledo and her PhD and Postdoctoral Fellowship from CWRU.

Chiu-Yueh Hsiao PhD, RN, (MSN '04)

Chiu-Yueh Hsiao

Dr. Hsiao is a leading scholar in mental health nursing and family health, recognized for her contributions to advancing family-centered approaches in mental health care. Her research focuses on integrating families as partners in the planning and delivery of mental health services, with emphasis on family caregiving in mental illness, family-centered practice and the development of resilience at both individual and family levels. Her contributions include the design and evaluation of family-centered interventions that promote recovery-oriented outcomes for individuals living with mental health conditions.

As a principal investigator, Dr. Hsiao has secured competitive research funding from national and private foundations, leading interdisciplinary projects that bridge clinical practice and policy development. Her work supports evidence-based advocacy to enhance the role of mental health nurses and improve outcomes for patients and families within recovery-oriented mental health care. Clinically, she collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement family-centered care planning and shared decision-making, emphasizing the importance of collaborative partnerships in mental healthcare systems.

In addition to her research and clinical work, Dr. Hsiao actively contributes to the broader nursing profession. She serves as a reviewer for national research grants and academic programs and participates in national and international nursing associations, where she advocates for policies that strengthen family engagement and professional development in mental health nursing.

Dr. Hsiao received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chang Gung University in Taiwan, her Master of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her work continues to shape the integration of family systems in mental healthcare and to influence the development of evidence-based, person- and family-centered nursing practice. 

Eileen Magri PhD, RN, NEA-BC

Eileen Magri

Dr. Magri, senior director of nursing at New York University Langone Health Long Island (NYULHLI), leads operations, projects and planning for multiple inpatient units. She was the lead for the Baby-Friendly USA initiative at NYULHLI, which received designation in 2014, 2019 and 2024, the Joint Commission Perinatal Care Certification in 2019 and 2021 and the Advanced Perinatal Care Certification in 2023 and 2025. She is a New York Academy of Medicine Fellow and Coldiron Senior Nurse Executive Fellow, Marian K.Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing. She earned her PhD in Nursing from Molloy University.

In addition to her role as Senior Director, she has served on numerous committees, including the New York State (NYS) Children’s Hospital Solution for Patient Safety Leadership Committee and NYS Perinatal Collaborative. She is a certified Nurse Executive, Advanced by the American Nurse Credentialing Center.  She is a member of the New York Organization for Nursing Leadership, Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, National Association of Neonatal Nurses, Eastern Nurses Research Society, Sigma Theta Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing, and American College of Healthcare Executives.  

Dr. Magri supports the nursing staff, encouraging their participation in committees and councils because she knows it is vital for nurses to remain up to date with current practices and standards of care and safety. Translation of best practices provides the foundation for nurses to understand that quality nursing care results in positive patient outcomes, transforming how healthcare is delivered across the continuum. Dr. Magri is responsible for a variety of multidisciplinary projects, leading teams, using current research findings and data, and has presented her work at national conferences. She is an innovative leader whose resourcefulness and strategic thinking help guide the nursing staff to excel and succeed.

Randee Masciola DNP, APRN-CNP, WHNP-BC, FAANP, FNAP (GRS '19, nursing)

Randee Masciola

Dr. Masciola, who is an associate clinical professor at The Ohio State University (OSU) and the Director of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Education, received her BSN and MS from OSU (’96 and ’98) and her DNP from Case Western Reserve University (’16). She is certificated as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, a former Board of Director for the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), and a current board member for the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties.

Dr. Masciola is actively involved in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Sigma Theta Tua International, and the Midwest Nursing Research Society. She is an inducted fellow in AANP, the National Academies of Practice (Nursing), and NPWH. She was the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Service to NONPF Award, March of Dimes Nurse Educator of the Year for Ohio (2020) and selected by her peers for the Faculty Mentor Award at OSU (2025). 

In the summer of 2024, Dr. Masciola was part of a team awarded a grant to provide in-person instruction on evidence-based education, DNP role transition, scholarship dissemination, and DNP curriculum consultation for doctoral students and faculty at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) in Taipei, Taiwan. She was awarded international Visiting Scholar status for her impact. Dr. Masciola continues to offer a Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) experience, where DNP students from OSU attend innovative, interactive educational virtual workshops with DNP students from NYCU to collaborate, network, and grow personally and professionally as nursing global citizens. 

Her interprofessional scholarship focuses on the educational preparation and role of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and DNPs, evidence-based clinical management of sexual and reproductive health and global educational nursing opportunities.

Peter Preziosi, PhD, RN, CAE

Peter Preziosi

Dr. Preziosi, President and CEO of TruMerit, leads global efforts to strengthen health systems by improving career development and mobility for healthcare workers worldwide. Appointed in early 2023, he guided the organization's transformation from Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools International, the world's largest credentials evaluation body for nursing and allied health, to TruMerit, expanding its mission to include research, advocacy, and global standards for healthcare workforce certification.

Under Dr. Preziosi's leadership, TruMerit has enhanced its global profile to help healthcare workers practice at the top of their licensure and capabilities. He has also revitalized the organization's international advocacy as a member of the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in Consultative Relationship with the United Nations (CoNGO) and facilitated its induction into the World Health Organization (WHO) World Rehabilitation Alliance, which promotes workforce development and rehabilitation investment worldwide.

Before joining TruMerit, Dr. Preziosi led quality, standards development, and credentialing at the WHO Academy, a global learning initiative focused on upskilling millions of health workers. Starting his career as a registered nurse, he has nearly 30 years of experience in leadership roles across corporations, government, and nonprofits. His previous roles include innovation and reform leadership at Verizon's healthcare incubator, Concentrix, Planned Parenthood, the National League for Nursing, and New York City's Health and Hospital Corporation.

Dr. Preziosi holds a PhD in health policy along with a master's in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania, and a master's in education from Columbia University's Teachers College. He earned his bachelor's in nursing from Florida State University. He currently serves on the Board of Global Partners for Rehabilitation and is a Certified Association Executive with the American Society of Association Executives. He serves on the Global Advisory Board of the Marian K. Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Case Western Reserve University.

Rhayun Song

Rhayun Song, PhD, RN, FNP-C, FAANP (GRS '95, nursing)

Dr. Song is a professor of nursing at Chungnam National University in South Korea, where she has taught undergraduate and graduate students for over 20 years. She has led 24 funded research projects, authored 11 books and 107 peer-reviewed articles, as well as presented at 41 national and international conferences.

Dr. Song earned her master’s in nursing from Seoul National University, completed a post-master’s Family Nurse Practitioner program at Stony Brook University, and received her PhD from Case Western Reserve University.

She has contributed extensively to academic societies, serving as Chairperson of Academic Affairs for the Korean Society of Nursing Science and as Editor-in-Chief of the Korean Journal of Adult Nursing. She currently serves as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Nursing Studies.

A certified family nurse practitioner and a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (inducted in 2018), Dr. Song has played a key role in advancing nurse practitioner education in Korea through curriculum development, exam item writing, and defining nurse practitioner roles and core competencies.

Her research focuses on generating evidence to inform nursing practice and policy, with particular expertise in randomized controlled trials and meta-analyses evaluating Tai Chi as an intervention to improve physical function and quality of life in individuals with chronic diseases. She is committed to interdisciplinary and international collaboration to promote evidence-based, culturally relevant care models.

Heather Rice PhD, CPNP-PC, PMHS (NUR '12; GRS '17, nursing)

Heather Rice

Dr. Rice is a proud Cleveland native with a passion for service, focusing specifically on families and children. She is an enthusiastic advocate for birth equity, women and children’s health, reproductive justice, trauma prevention and mental wellness. Dr. Rice is committed to addressing health disparities, working in partnership with the community organizations Birthing Beautiful Communities (BBC) and the Village of Healing Center (VOH). She is an active member of several academic, community and professional organizations that advocate for child and maternal health, mental illness, and trauma prevention. Her research focuses on neighborhood conditions, maternal health, toxic stress and infant mortality prevention in African American women.

Dr. Rice has received numerous honors and awards, including Greater Cleveland Nurses Association Faces of Care Featured Honoree, Top 100 Great Ohio Nurses Award, Northeast Ohio Top 25 under 35 Movers and Shakers Award, and more. 

Dr. Rice is also interested in exploring topics such as preventing infant mortality, addressing toxic stress, examining neighborhood conditions, strengthening social support networks, and leveraging healthcare technology. She holds two degrees from Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University.

Laura Rosenthal DNP, ACNP, FAANP, (NUR '06) 

Laura Rosenthal

Dr. Rosenthal is a Clinical Professor and Senior Assistant Dean of Academic Operations at the University of Colorado College of Nursing.  She completed her bachelor’s in nursing at the University of Michigan, her master’s in nursing from Case Western Reserve University, and her doctorate in nursing practice from the University of Colorado. 

Since becoming an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 2006, Laura has been increasingly involved with advocacy and policy for the nursing profession.  She served on the board of the Colorado Nurses Association for 10 years in the roles of Region Director, Vice President, President-Elect, and President.  She was also the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Colorado State Representative from 2018-2020. She has been active in providing testimony regarding nurse practitioner prescriptive authority at the state level and enjoys meeting with legislators on both the state and federal levels regarding the full scope of practice and nurse safety.  

LeeAnna Spiva, PhD, RN, PLNC

LeeAnna Spiva

Dr. Spiva is an accomplished Nurse Executive and Researcher with proven success leading teams in the achievement of a vision for transforming, measuring, and creating value in healthcare. Currently serving as System Assistant Vice President for Nursing Operations and Practice at Wellstar Health System, she oversaw American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition® and Pathway Designation® for four hospitals and ANCC Practice Transition Program® designation for new graduate nurse residency for 11 hospitals.

She successfully led the clinical integration of two mergers and electronic medical record integrations. She strengthened key academic partners, creating and implementing career development pathway programs.

With 178 combined publications and presentations reaching national and global audiences, she disseminated evidence-based models and exemplars that have elevated and empowered thousands of nurses to enhance patient care and outcomes. Dr. Spiva holds a PhD from Georgia State University, a Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Emory University. She is a Coldiron Fellow, Marian K.Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing.

Paula Tucker, PhD, DNP, FNP-BC, ENP-C, FAANP

Paula Tucker

Dr. Tucker is a Clinical  Associate Professor and Specialty Director of the Emergency Nurse  Practitioner Program at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at  Emory University. She also practices as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner at a Level I trauma center in Atlanta, Georgia.

A national leader in health professions education, quality improvement and workforce development, Dr. Tucker advances evidence-based emergency care and promotes health equity through interprofessional collaboration. She serves as Co-Investigator and Implementation Scientist on a CDC-funded initiative aimed at improving pediatric concussion care and has trained numerous emergency care providers in quality improvement science.

Dr. Tucker also contributes to national policy through her role as a member of the CMS Emergency Medicine Expert Clinician  Workgroup and holds leadership positions in several national nurse practitioner organizations. She earned both her PhD and DNP from  Emory University. She is a Coldiron Fellow, Marian K.Shaughnessy Nurse Leadership Academy, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing.
