This week is Global Entrepreneurship Week #GEW2024, and to celebrate we're highlighting entrepreneurial success stories from the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship.
In the latest issue of THINK Magazine, the Institute was featured to highlight its 5th anniversary. The article showcases Institute’s role in fostering innovation through mentorship, grants, and resources that empower students, alumni, and faculty to transform ideas into impactful entrepreneurial ventures.
Here at the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, we’re no stranger to entrepreneurship—from hosting Entrepreneur in Residence and founder of Adobe Population Health Jayme Ambrose, to welcoming other EIRs to campus like Peg Fitzgerald and Judith Shamian in previous years. We know that nursing and entrepreneurship go hand in hand.
We also know that everyone can benefit from the entrepreneurship programming that the Institute offers, including Shanina Knighton, an adjunct professor at the School of Nursing and one of last year’s Veale Faculty Fellows. Knighton was able to hire a CWRU student intern through the Institute and the Greater Cleveland Partnership as a commercialization associate to help her grow her startup.
