Why I Teach
While practicing social work as an administrator for a child behavioral health organization, I frequently provided training and workshops to staff and social work professionals. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the experience and would often receive positive feedback regarding my abilities as a teacher. This ignited my passion to teach and the opportunity to contribute to the field in another capacity. I enjoy a collaborative classroom experience where there is a free exchange of ideas and we can expand each person’s comfort zone. I also appreciate the opportunity to share my practice experience with new emerging social workers.
Why I Chose This Profession
My inspiration for choosing this profession resulted from the influence of a number of high school and college professors who had a tremendous impact on me. I was always fascinated by the human condition and derive great personal and professional satisfaction from helping people.
