We are committed to developing the next generation of social work leaders through a variety of fellowships and partnerships.

Our programs offer unique opportunities for financial support and professional growth, empowering students to make a lasting impact in Northeast Ohio and beyond. 

The Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences offers pathways to advance your education, leadership, and community involvement in the field of social work. Applicants are automatically eligible for these programs; no additional application is required.

Leadership Fellows Program

Offers seven full-tuition scholarships

The Leadership Fellows Program at the Mandel School is designed for exceptionally qualified, highly motivated candidates who are interested in leadership, human service delivery and community practice, and includes the Louis Stokes Fellowship in Community and Social Development. The program awards full-tuition scholarships to seven highly qualified full-time students pursuing a Master of Social Work. Fellows also receive $250 per year for participating in professional development activities, such as conferences.

Service Corps Partnerships

The Mandel School deeply values the experiences and leadership skills you've gained through service programs such as City Year, the Peace Corps, Coro Fellows and AmeriCorps. The commitment you've shown to serving others and your community is a powerful foundation for a career in social work.

Workforce Partnerships

Offers 50% scholarships for local social workers

The Mandel School is addressing the growing demand for mental and behavioral health professionals in Northeast Ohio, particularly in the area of substance abuse, through partnering with local nonprofit organizations. We offer partnerships with several local nonprofits to recruit and train diverse leaders in the Mandel School’s top-ranked Master of Social Work and Master of Nonprofit Organizations programs.
