Student Loan Options
The following is a directory for general information about student loans. If you have specific questions, please contact the Student Loan Office at studentaccounts@case.edu or 216.368.2226 (Option 3).
The Financial Aid Office handles the loan application and awards of student loans. The Student Loan Office administers the terms and collects payments for the following loans:
- Loans for Disadvantaged Students
- Federal Perkins Loan
- Health Professions Loan
- Nursing Graduate Loan
- Primary Care Loan
- Nurse Faculty Loans
- Case Western Reserve University Loan
Student Loan Deferment General Information
In order to receive a deferment of repayment, the borrower must request the deferment on the proper deferment request form, immediately upon entry into eligible service or student status, along with any documentation required by Case Western Reserve University to prove that the borrower qualifies. This documentation can be submitted directly to Case Western Reserve University. The student may lose deferment benefits if he/she fails to file the request on time. Request deferment for loans administered through Case Western Reserve University at Heartland Campus Solutions/ECSI.

How to Make Student Loan Payments
The university partners with Heartland ECSI to administer and manage the student loans. Online access are available: verify when payments have been received, update address and phone information, verify account balances, obtain loan payoff amounts, sign-up for electronic billing, and making payments. Payment options include Electronic Funds transfer (EFT/ACH), payment date choice (only if using EFT), and credit card payments for all borrowers (additional fee applies to all credit card payments).

Login information is provided in monthly bills. For questions, login help, or loan assistance, please call 1.888.549.3274.
Please note: The borrower must without exception, report any of the following:
If he or she (his/her):
- withdraws from school
- transfers to another school
- drops below half-time status
- changes his/her name
- changes his/her address or parents' address
