General Information
Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) borrowers should refer to their promissory note(s) for detailed terms and conditions. Heartland ECSI is the university's loan servicer and can assist with loan repayments, general questions or loan assistance for NFLP. Heartland ECSI contact number is 1.888.549.3274. If a NFLP borrower need to contact the university with specific questions on NFLP program administration, please email studentaccounts@case.edu or call 216.368.2226 (option 3).
NFLP borrowers, who meet the NFLP Service Obligation and wish to claim entitlement to loan cancellation for full-time nurse faculty employment for the NFLP, must submit certain documents for review and processing.
NFLP Documents and Forms
Heartland ECSI, the university's loan servicer, is authorized to process forms on behalf of the university. We understand that circumstances arises that a NFLP borrower needs to send documents or forms directly to the university for review and processing. Thus, the CWRU Box File Request can be used to submit documents in a fast and secure way to CWRU.

Timeline to Claim Entitlement for Loan Cancellation
NFLP borrowers are required to submit the following document(s) and/or form(s) to claim entitlement to loan cancellation for full-time nurse faculty employment for the NFLP. These documents should be submitted within 30 days of the signed date on the form(s) and at the timeline noted in the table below.
Documents or forms submitted more than 30 days of the signed date on the form(s) will require new signed forms.
If an NFLP borrower is unable to provide new signed forms, the late submissions should be submitted to CWRU using the Box File Request. NFLP borrowers should provide a signed letter stating the reason why new signed forms cannot be obtained and the reason for the late submission.

Download and Upload Documents and Forms
To find the most current version of a document or form, please navigate to Heartland ECSI website. Select Download Forms. In the School Name search box, type Case Western Reserve University. Locate the Nurse Faculty Loan Program Forms section. Instructions on submitting NFLP document(s) to Heartland ECSI can be found on the cover sheet of each document downloaded.
Instructions on using CWRU Box File Request -
- Save the completed forms and attachments on your computer. All forms must be typed or clearly handwritten and all signatures on the documents are wet (ink) signatures, no digital signatures permitted.
- Click this link https://cwru.app.box.com/f/925a9380689d46fda26a334fbf1b5793 to open up a new secure Box window (no Box login or account needed to upload completed documents).
- Drag and drop the document(s) and click "Submit."
- CWRU will review the documents within 7 business days and send an email to the NFLP borrower with a decision. Missing or incomplete documents or forms will require full resubmission. The CWRU Box File Request should be used to claim entitlement to loan cancellation for full-time nurse faculty employment for NFLP. Deferment or Forbearance forms for NFLP will not be accepted in the CWRU Box File Request. Please submit Deferment or Forbearance form to Heartland ECSI.
