What is Poll Everywhere
Poll Everywhere is an audience response tool that can be used by faculty, staff, and students within the CWRU community to engage with other members of the CWRU community using interactive activities such as live multiple-choice questions, word clouds, open-ended questions, and competitions. CWRU premium Poll Everywhere presenter accounts are available for use to facilitate academic engagement and encourage enhanced participation within the CWRU community.
For additional audience response tool options, please review the Audience Response webpage.

Usage Guidelines
An active CWRU email account is required to create presenter accounts. Participant poll respondents must log in using their CWRU abc123@case.edu email account.
CWRU Premium Poll Everywhere presenter accounts are available for use by CWRU faculty, staff, TAs, and students to poll:
- CWRU students in their academic coursework
- CWRU students in CWRU student service activities
- CWRU faculty, staff, and students participating in meetings and other CWRU community gatherings
CWRU Premium Poll Everywhere presenter accounts are not to be used to poll:
- Alumni and non-CWRU audience members. This includes use at outside conferences and CWRU sponsored events with non-CWRU audience members
- Affiliated hospital residency programs or hospital activities involving non-CWRU students
Account Termination
[U]Tech reserves the right to remove your presenter account from the CWRU premium account should your use of your account violate any of the above-stated conditions. Once removed from the CWRU premium account, your account will become a free Poll Everywhere account.
Download PowerPoint Plug-In
You can download the Poll Everywhere PowerPoint plug-in to your work or personal computer from the Poll Everywhere download and install page.
We recommend using the Poll Everywhere website or the PowerPoint plug-in to present questions. For ease of creation, we also recommend building questions on the Poll Everywhere website, rather than building questions using the PowerPoint plug-in.
See the Frequently Asked Questions below for information about Poll Everywhere on classroom computers.
Vendor Training
Offered to CWRU by Poll Everywhere, these trainings focus on using the PE tools.
▶ Watch the recording [58 minute video]
This basic training will start with logging into the Poll Everywhere website and introducing users to the basic menu, and all the way through making and using their first activity.
▶ Watch the recording [56 minute video]
The advanced training will demonstrate how to sync with a Canvas course, how to use it for attendance and participation, exporting grades into Canvas, and more.
Connecting to Canvas
You can also connect Poll Everywhere to your Canvas course and sync grades from Poll Everywhere to Canvas. We have two guides to walk you through how to Sync your Canvas Course with Poll Everywhere and also to Sync Grades from Poll Everywhere to Canvas.
Registering Participants Outside of Canvas
All participants must be registered with their CWRU abc123@case.edu email in order to participate and have their response recorded by a CWRU premium Poll Everywhere presenter account.
Outside of the above Canvas course connection, presenters will have to register their participants via a CSV file. At this time, this requires knowing your audience beforehand and collecting their CWRU emails for registration.
Please review the step-by-step guide for additional information.
Attendance
Please note that once the attendance feature is turned on for your account, it is applied to all of your Poll Everywhere questions and can not be managed for individual questions.
Please review the Getting Started with Attendance Management for Instructors guide for further details.
