Nearly two centuries ago, the State of Ohio granted the charter establishing Western Reserve College. To recognize Charter Day (Feb. 7, 1826)—and begin the countdown to Case Western Reserve University’s 200th birthday in 2026—all are invited to participate at several bicentennial events throughout the day on Friday, Feb. 7.
After the official kickoff celebration from 12:30 to 2:30 in Tinkham Veale University Center, head to the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center for a pep rally and "throwback” basketball doubleheader against the University of Rochester.
The pep rally runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.—with the first 300 in attendance receiving a limited edition replica jersey shirt—and students are encouraged to stay and cheer on our basketball teams in Horsburgh Gymnasium. Free admission and concessions will be provided during the games, in addition to entertainment and prizes between the two games.
Get your throwback jerseys, grab some food and have a chance to win some great prizes!
