Attend the Fall 2024 Career Fair on Sept. 26

The Fall 2024 Career Fair is an on-campus event for students and alumni of Case Western Reserve University. The Career Fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center field house.

This event is an opportunity for students to meet with recruiters for hiring opportunities. If you are looking for a summer 2025 opportunity, this is the time you want to meet with recruiters and apply for those positions.

Employers will be recruiting students of all majors for all kinds of opportunities, including internships, co-ops, practicum, and/or full-time jobs. Employers typically send CWRU alumni as representatives, so this is a great networking opportunity, even if you’re not in the market for a position. Staff and faculty members also are welcome to stop by and say “hello” to the company representatives.

Tips to prepare

Review some quick tips designed to maximize your success at the career fair:

  1. Clarify your goals. Ask yourself: What do you hope to get out of the event? General information about employers? A lead for a job or internship at a particular company? A new contact for your professional network? Write down your goals ahead of time as you prepare.
  2. Research companies in advance. Review the list of employers and programs that will be at the event and identify those that match your interests. Visit their website and write down a few questions that you can ask their recruiters.
  3. Practice your pitch. Prepare a few sentences about your background, studies and career goals. Practice in front of the mirror or with a friend so you feel confident speaking with recruiters.
  4. Polish your resume. Update your resume before the fair and keep in mind a few highlights when speaking with recruiters. Bring enough copies of your resume to share with all of the employers you meet.
  5. Plan to follow up. Pick up business cards and write down contact information (especially the names of people you talk to). Follow up with recruiters via email after the event to express your continued interest and to thank them for their time.
