Forms of Server Centralization

Centralization of a physical server/storage system can take several forms. These include:

  • Moving a physical system into a UTech data center and making configuration changes that reduce risk of data loss, data disclosure or infection with malware.
  • Moving the applications hosted on a system and services provided by that system to one or more virtual machines hosted within UTech-operated infrastructure and disposing of the system.
  • Moving a storage system into a UTech data center and making configuration changes that reduce risk of data loss, data disclosure or infection with malware.
  • Moving the data stored in a storage system to UTech-managed service and disposing of the system.
  • Moving both data and applications hosted on a system or services provided by a system to UTech-operated infrastructure, while leaving other applications, services or data on the system and moving the system into a UTech data center and making configuration changes that reduce risk of data loss, data disclosure or infection with malware.
  • Moving both data and applications hosted on a personal computer or services provided by a personal computer to UTech-operated infrastructure, while leaving the personal computer in place for typical office use.
