This self-paced course is designed to empower students of all skill levels at Case Western Reserve University with the essential knowledge, skills, and tools to implement, evaluate, and mature our Digital Accessibility Policy.

How to Use the Course

Log in using your CWRU credentials for secure access to the course materials. Follow the structured learning path, progressing through each module at your own pace. Complete all quizzes and activities to demonstrate your mastery of the material. Upon successful completion, you'll be eligible to earn the Digital Accessibility badge. 

Join the Training

In this training, you’ll learn how to create and check accessible content such as captions in Zoom and Echo360 and accessible content in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, PDFs, and more. For more information, check out the course objectives below!

Course Objectives

Those who complete this course can expect to be able to:

  1. Understand the importance of digital accessibility.
  2. Apply best practices for creating accessible digital content.
  3. Evaluate content for accessibility compliance using various tools and techniques.
  4. Integrate accessibility features in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and PDF documents.
  5. Utilize assistive technologies and understand their impact on users.
  6. Utilize accessible color choices for digital content. 
  7. Create accessible alternative text and descriptive hyperlinks.
  8. Ensure readability and proper use of headings in digital content.
  9. Implement captions and transcripts effectively.
  10. Use generative AI for document remediation.
