Lynette Hammond Gerido, PhD, MPH, member of Case CCC's Population and Cancer Prevention Program, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Bioethics, CWRU School of Medicine, presented research at the 7th Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications (ELSI) Congress, hosted by the National Human Genome Research Institute. Gerido presented "State Cancer Registry Research Ethics: Centering Patient Perspectives," co-authored with MPH student Regan Manning and supported by Case CCC pilot funding.
She also co-authored "Communication as Capacity Building in Community Partnered Genomic Research," presented by collaborator Letonia Copeland-Hardin, PhD, which highlighted community-partnered genomic research projects at the University of Chicago. In addition, doctoral student Leah Nez presented a poster exploring solidarity in genomic research, building on her work with The Justice Dialogues.
