Cytometry and Microscopy

The Cytometry and Microscopy Shared Resource (SR) provides access to instrumentation to perform cell-based assays and cell sorting. Trained users schedule time on instruments, then come to the facility and run their own samples. SR staff are on-site to help if difficulties arise. In special cases, samples can be run by SR staff by prior arrangement. The SR operates on a cost-recovery basis. Prior to access, users need to supply a valid account that will be charged at the end of the month of access.

Co-directors are Dr. Amar Desai and Dr. Judy Drazba. Researchers also have access to resources from Dr. Drazba's core at the Lerner Research Institute Shared Laboratory found below.

We fully support using the services of other cytometry facilities when it is more expedient and, in addition to Lerner Research Institute (above), cooperate with the following cytometry resources: Center for AIDS ResearchInfectious DiseasesLRI Flow Cytometry Core, and microscopy, and CWRU SOM Neurosciences.

Operation

First time access:
Contact Karina Inacio Carvalho (kxi68@case.edu). She will arrange orientation and training.

Experienced users:
Workflow begins by scheduling time on the appropriate instrument using an online scheduler (iLab); show up on time, then operate the instrument (run samples and acquire data). To contact SR staff with questions or as an alternative to the scheduler send an email to cytocore@gmail.com.
