The Case Comprehensive Cancer Center (Case CCC) serves a diverse 15-county catchment area across Northeast Ohio. From large urban communities to suburban and rural areas, our region includes nearly four million people with different experiences, resources and cancer-related needs.
Understanding these differences helps Case CCC identify where the burden of cancer is greatest, recognize disparities and focus research, prevention and community engagement efforts where they can have the greatest impact.

Case CCC's catchment area includes the following 15 Northeast Ohio counties:
Ashland, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne.

How We Use Catchment Area Data
Case CCC's Population Cancer Analytics team brings together data from state, federal and other trusted sources to identify patterns in cancer across Northeast Ohio and compare our region with Ohio and the nation.
These data help researchers and community partners identify areas of need, develop research questions, guide cancer prevention and screening efforts and better understand disparities among different populations and communities.
Catchment area reports examine cancer incidence and mortality by factors such as cancer type, geography, age, sex, race and ethnicity, while additional data help us understand the social and behavioral factors that can influence health.

What we learn from our catchment area helps Case CCC establish priorities that respond to the cancer burden and needs of Northeast Ohio communities.
