Jordan M. Winter, MD, FACS, co-leader of Case CCC's Developmental Therapeutics Program, was celebrated on Sunday, August 9 as the 2026 Honoree of the American Cancer Society (ACS) Greater Cleveland Golf Classic. The honor is particularly fitting for Winter, whose research has benefited from ACS support.
As a pancreatic cancer surgeon and research scientist, Winter's work focuses on identifying metabolic vulnerabilities in pancreatic cancer and translating those discoveries into new treatment strategies. His research has received additional support from the National Institutes of Health and Department of Defense, and has helped advance novel approaches to treating one of the most challenging cancers.
The Greater Cleveland Golf Classic also supports the American Cancer Society Tri-State Research Fund, which provides funding for highly rated cancer research in Ohio, West Virginia and Northern Kentucky that has successfully completed ACS scientific review but could not otherwise be funded within available resources. Proceeds from the event’s Raise the Paddle initiative are dedicated to the fund.
