Ahed Makhoul, MD, MBA, an Associate Trainee member of Case CCC’s Developmental Therapeutics Program and oncology fellow at Cleveland Clinic, has been selected as part of the inaugural cohort of the NCCN Advocacy Academy Fellows—one of just 12 individuals chosen nationwide for this new leadership program.
Makhoul will participate in a structured training initiative designed to equip early-career oncologists with the tools to translate clinical and research experience into impactful health policy. His selected project focuses on developing a concurrent hospice-oncology care model for multiple myeloma, addressing a critical gap in care delivery for patients with advanced disease.
As part of the program, Makhoul will engage with national leaders, receive mentorship, and contribute to policy discussions aimed at improving access to evidence-based cancer care. His selection highlights the role of emerging physician-scientists in shaping the future of oncology beyond the clinic.
