J. Arvid Ågren, PhD

J. Arvid Ågren PhD is Assistant Professor at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University and Research Associate in Genomic Sciences and Systems Biology at Cleveland Clinic Research. His research focuses on the evolution of within-organism conflicts, including selfish genetic elements and cancers. He is the author of The Gene’s-Eye View of Evolution (Oxford University Press) and co-editor of The Paradox of the Organism: Adaptation and Internal Conflict (Harvard University Press). At the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center, he supports the Population and Cancer Prevention Program.
