The Dallas lab examines how the immune system is shaped and formed after an allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) by using scientifically advanced techniques to characterize the T cell repertoire. Most of our understanding of the developing immune system after HSCT has focused on the delayed recovery of conventional alpha-beta T cells and the importance of γδ T cells after HSCT has been largely overlooked. Our lab investigates and characterizes the γδ T cell recovery after HSCT to increase our understanding of their role in infections and preventing leukemic relapse.
