Donna Plecha, MD, FSBI, has been recognized with the 2026 Impact Award from the National Consortium of Breast Centers—an honor highlighting her contributions to advancing breast imaging and patient care.
Plecha, a member of Case CCC’s Cancer Imaging Program and a long-standing leader in breast imaging research, has helped drive innovations in cancer detection through her work in digital breast tomosynthesis, PET/MRI, and ultrasound elastography. Her efforts have been instrumental in bringing advanced imaging technologies into clinical practice to improve screening accuracy and early detection.
Chair of the Department of Radiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Plecha’s research focuses on improving diagnostic radiology approaches for breast cancer, with an emphasis on translating imaging advances into meaningful clinical impact.
