Lunar New Year is the most important social and economic holiday for billions of people around the world. It’s tied to the lunar-solar Chinese calendar and was originally observed as a time to honor household and heavenly deities and ancestors.
Today, it’s a special time to bring friends and family together for feasting and festivities in China, Korea, Vietnam, Japan and beyond.
Year of the Dragon celebration on campus
Celebrate the Lunar New Year with the Office of International Student Resources and Engagement on Friday, Feb. 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tinkham Veale University Center lobby. Immerse yourself in the festive spirit as red envelopes are distributed containing good luck coins (chocolates) in honor of the Year of the Dragon.
Attendees can also expect extra giveaways and photo opportunities with the dragon. Capture the moment and share your photos with international@case.edu for a chance to be featured on their social media platforms or website.
Mark your calendars, invite your friends and be part of this special event.
