The Cancer Council is a distinguished group of civic, business, philanthropic, and community leaders dedicated to advancing one of Northeast Ohio's greatest scientific assets. By championing Case CCC’s mission and increasing awareness of its impact, Cancer Council members help strengthen the partnerships and philanthropic support that accelerate progress against cancer.
Case CCC is home to more than 400 researchers across Case Western Reserve University, University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center, and Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute. Together, these investigators are conducting extraordinary research that is transforming how cancer is prevented, detected, diagnosed, treated, and survived. Their work spans genomics, immunology, cancer biology, precision medicine, artificial intelligence, population science, and clinical trials—bringing together expertise that few cancer centers in the world can match.
As the nation's only NCI-designated consortium comprehensive cancer center in Ohio, Case CCC creates a collaborative environment where scientists and clinicians from three world-class institutions work together toward a common goal: reducing the burden of cancer and improving the lives of the more than 4 million people who call Northeast Ohio home.
The Cancer Council helps bring this remarkable work to the broader community. Through regular engagement with Case CCC leadership and researchers, Council members gain firsthand insight into emerging discoveries, innovative technologies, and the scientific advances shaping the future of cancer research and care. They serve as ambassadors, helping others understand why these discoveries matter and why continued investment in cancer research is essential.
Private philanthropy plays a vital role in advancing scientific innovation. It provides flexible funding to pursue promising new ideas, recruit exceptional researchers, launch high-impact pilot projects, and accelerate discoveries that can lead to tomorrow's breakthroughs. By fostering awareness and inspiring investment, the Cancer Council helps ensure that Case CCC remains at the forefront of cancer research and innovation.
Cancer research is also an investment in the future of Northeast Ohio. It attracts world-class talent, fuels biomedical innovation, creates new partnerships with industry, and strengthens the region's position as a national leader in scientific discovery and advanced cancer care.
The Cancer Council welcomes individuals who are passionate about advancing cancer research and expanding its impact. Together, Council members help connect one of the nation's leading cancer research enterprises with the community it serves—ensuring that groundbreaking discoveries continue to improve lives today and for generations to come.
