Santosh Rao, MD, ABOIM, a member of Case CCC’s Population and Cancer Prevention Program, has been named a 2026 Fellow of the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) in recognition of his contributions to the organization and to the field of evidence-informed integrative oncology.
Rao will be honored during the 2026 International SIO Conference, taking place September 29–October 1 in Detroit, Michigan. The SIO Fellow award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the Society and to the advancement of evidence-informed integrative oncology.
Rao has held numerous leadership roles within SIO, including serving as President from 2023 to 2025. He has also chaired the Scientific Committee, co-chaired multiple annual conferences in 2018, 2022, 2024 and 2025, and served as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee from 2019 to 2021.
His contributions extend across several areas of the organization, including the Clinical Practice and Global committees. Rao has also mentored the highly productive Yoga Special Interest Group and helped establish the Ayurveda Special Interest Group.
The recognition reflects Rao’s longstanding contributions to advancing integrative approaches to cancer care and his leadership within the field.
