On Monday, May 16, the School of Dental Medicine faculty met at the Tinkham Veale University Center for the semi-annual faculty retreat. After breakfast in one of the center’s ballrooms, each department chair shared updates from the 2022-2023 school year. The group talked about the future of the SODM in addition to recognizing each other’s achievements.
Associate Dean of Academic Affairs David Rolf led the group through a Kaplan INBDE simulated exam to better familiarize the faculty with the format and types of questions on the exam. The class of 2023 is currently completing a Kaplan INBDE Prep Course and will be taking the full exam in the Fall of 2022.
The afternoon of the retreat was spent receiving medical emergency training facilitated by Donald Lewis, DDS, a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The training was put to the test during medical emergencies scenarios in small group sessions to complete the day.
