On Saturday, May 18, the School of Dental Medicine diploma ceremony was held at the Maltz Performing Arts Center Silver Hall. Faculty, staff, students, friends and family gathered to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2024.
Craig S. Hirschberg, DDS, immediate past president of the American Association of Endodontists (AAE), delivered the keynote address.
"You, the members of the Class of 2024, have just completed an incredible journey and are about to start your careers in the learned profession of dentistry," said Dr. Hirschberg. "In my very biased opinion, you have chosen well. In a society that seems to bestow disproportionate rewards to people working in finance, in the entertainment industry, to professional athletes and social media influencers, it makes me feel optimistic for the future of our society that individuals such as you are willing to spend years studying and training to do something that truly benefits society, something that requires patience, empathy and compassion."
Immediately following the diploma exercise, a reception was held in the Cosgrove Courtyard of Samson Pavilion.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024!
