Over 100 alumni and their guests traveled to Cleveland Oct. 12-15, to celebrate Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, including two members from the Class of 1958 and three members from the Class of 1963. There were over a dozen members from the Class of 1973 celebrating their golden 50th anniversary and over twenty members from the Class of 1983 celebrating their 40th anniversary. The classes from 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2013 were also represented.

Many attendees started their weekend by watching a live Yomi Robot implant surgery conducted by Gian Pietro Schincaglia, DDS, PhD, FACD, professor, chair and graduate program director of the Department of Periodontics. This was the 53rd such surgery completed by the department and was covered by Fox 8 News.

Alumni at House of Blues

Classes gathered at a Welcome Reception at the House of Blues to meet each other, learn about the state of the school from Dean Kenneth Chance, DDS (DEN '79), enjoy live music from Tom Leatherman, DDS (DEN ‘85) and his band Cloud9CLE and enjoy cocktails and appetizers. After this event, the Class of 1973—celebrating their 50th anniversary—gathered in a hospitality suite at the InterContinental Hotel for a buffet dinner. During the dinner, each dentist stood and shared some of their life story. They were also treated to some comedic relief from Ron Stark, DDS (DEN ‘73). The Class of 1983 traveled to Johnny’s Downtown and the Class of 2013 made their way to the Society Lounge.
