Waiver of Registration
Students who were registered for at least one credit hour during the fall semester may be eligible to waive registration for the spring semester, if they submit all final materials, including the Waiver of Registration form, to gradstudies@case.edu by Friday, January 26. Your student must also apply to graduate in SIS. The Waiver of Registration form does not require your signature as advisor but international students must also have it signed by International Student Services (ISS).
Academic Integrity
Students are expected to uphold standards of academic integrity. If faculty suspect a graduate student may have violated academic integrity standards (including but not limited to plagiarism, falsifying research results, cheating on exams, submitting duplicate work to fulfill assignments in more than one course, forging or altering University documents, etc), submit an Academic Integrity Violation Report with supporting evidence to Senior Associate Dean Lynmarie Hamel. Further action will be determined after the report is reviewed by Grad Studies.
Leave of Absence (LOA) Requests
Students are expected to maintain continuous registration in the fall and spring terms, unless on an approved Leave of Absence (LOA). An LOA may be requested for up to two academic semesters if circumstances arise which make a student unable to maintain their registration. Students and their advisors should review the Graduate Studies Leave of Absence policy. Students must submit a written request to the School of Graduate Studies by email to gradstudies@case.edu. Students should check with with their advisor if considering an LOA.
TA Training
Required training for graduate student teaching assistants (TA) in the spring semester will be held on Thursday, January 11 from 9:00am to 12:00pm in Tink Ballroom. Prior to the in-person training, Grad TAs must also register for UNIV400 Professional Development for Graduate Teaching Assistants in SIS and complete the webinar in Canvas. Please direct questions to gtatraining@case.edu.
Spring Orientation
Spring Orientation will be held online in Canvas; new students will receive an email when the modules are open. New students should continue to complete the New Student Checklist including submitting a photo for their student ID. See more information for new students and send any questions to sgsevents@case.edu.
We are also hosting an in-person Welcome to Campus event on Wednesday, January 10 from 8:30am to 3:10pm in Nord Hall for new students to pick up CWRU ID cards and RTA stickers and meet our staff and other students. We will also hold a Welcome Session on Zoom on Friday, January 12 at 10:00am.
KSL Course Requests
