For the first time in Prof. Shannon E. French's nearly fourteen-year tenure as Director of the Inamori International Center for Ethics and Excellence and Inamori Professor in Ethics at Case Western Reserve University, she will take a sabbatical. Beginning in January 2022, Prof. French will devote time to her newest book, Artificial Ethics: The Impact of Emerging Technologies on Human Value(s), (working title) and give limited talks on the subject, beginning with the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs in March.
Inamori Center Associate Director, Beth Trecasa will serve as Acting Director until French's return to campus in August 2022. During this time, Trecasa will take next steps in the implementation of the Inamori Center's new strategic plan, Our Story, Our Structure, Our Space: 2022 to 2027, while ensuring continuation of all Inamori Center programs and operations.
